Core Services

Data Collection

For over 20 years, Insight has been conducting rigorous quantitative and qualitative data collection. We have a strong reputation for designing research protocols that obtain needed data from hard-to-reach or underserved populations, tapping into all available resources and stakeholder groups. Systematic and comprehensive in our approach, we provide transparency, consistency, relevance, and quality.

  • Sampling

Insight statisticians are experts in developing complete sampling frames, selecting scientific samples, and determining the sample sizes necessary to identify a program effect at the least cost to the client.

  • Survey and Questionnaire Design, Cognitive Testing, and Implementation

Our survey methodologists and technical experts develop targeted data collection instruments, including psychometric and cognitive testing questionnaires, to address pertinent behavior and performance indicators and evaluate program effectiveness.

  • Focus Groups and Interviews

We have conducted thousands of focus groups, in-depth interviews, and technical expert panels on diverse topics and with a variety of stakeholders to inform and enrich quantitative findings.

  • Observations and Site Visits

Insight understands that some program assessments require direct observation of a program’s operation. We conduct site visits across a broad spectrum of disciplines and population groups.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Technical Expert Panel Meetings

We convene both in-person and virtual expert panels, roundtables, conferences, and other forums to facilitate development of recommendations and guidelines that support policy and program assessments.

  • Literature Reviews and Environmental Scans

Insight staff routinely perform literature reviews and conduct environmental scans, tapping into countless information sources to inform our research design using existing data.
