Insight Convenes Innovative 10 State Virtual Learning Collaborative on SNAP Notice Improvement

October 15, 2020 by Caroline Brent-Chessum

Congratulations to the 10 state SNAP agencies and FNS staff who participated in SNAP Notices Learning Session 2! Following a 10-month Learning Collaborative, Insight hosted participants from Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, all seven FNS Regional Offices, and the FNS National Office for a 100-person, 3-day virtual event on improving SNAP notices. The letters States send to clients are more important than ever—especially at a time of social distancing—because they communicate critical information about how to get SNAP benefits. FNS Administrator Pam Miller welcomed the teams and commended their work to improve critical client communications in the midst of a pandemic response. The hard work of these states will help improve customer service, promote efficiency and integrity, and enhance outcomes for clients. Over 3 days, teams tackled challenges together, learned from policy experts and community-based organizations, and worked side-by-side with their federal partners at FNS.
