Project Overview

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Networks for School Improvements (NSI) initiative provides grants to organizations across the United States to support middle schools and high schools in identifying promising approaches for addressing common challenges. NSI supports continuous improvement projects for over 20 networks across more than 400 K–12 schools.

Insight is leading and developing a series of interactive Tableau dashboards that communicate information on school and network characteristics. Addressing the needs of various end users in an intuitive structure, the dashboards enable users to filter by outcomes of interest, networks and schools, and grant years. Foundation staff and grantees use the dashboards to track implementation measures and outcomes over time. Users can compare specific networks and schools with average characteristics of other networks or schools. Each dashboard draws from multiple data sources to support continuous improvement efforts.
