This summary report outlines the findings from focus groups conducted for the 2019 Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS). DACOWITS collected qualitative and quantitative data during visits to eight military installations representing all four U.S. Department of Defense Service branches (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force). During the focus groups held at these sites, the Committee addressed three topics: conscious and unconscious gender bias, pregnancy and parenthood, and physical fitness assessments.
