Jacob Beckerman-Hsu

Jacob (Jake) Beckerman-Hsu is a researcher with a strong background in program planning and evaluation, nutrition, and biostatistics. He has experience in diverse research methodologies, including multilevel and longitudinal analysis, geospatial analysis, and qualitative analysis.
At Westat Insight, Jake supports several projects, such as Improving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) Data, WIC Participant and Program Characteristics, and Understanding Risk Assessment in SNAP Payment Accuracy.
Prior to his work at Westat Insight, Jake played a central role in the Communities for Healthy Living childhood obesity prevention trial as a doctoral student and postdoctoral fellow. He holds an M.P.H. in community health sciences from UCLA and an S.M. (Master of Science) in biostatistics and a Ph.D. in population health sciences from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
