Katie Powell is a program analyst with over 5 years’ experience conducting research and analysis and writing reports in the fields of nutrition, food security, and other social health issues. She supports projects for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
At Insight, Katie is the project manager for the SNAP Certification Technical Assistance project, which provides a range of policy support and training to FNS.
Prior to working at Insight, Katie spent several years in the direct service and advocacy nonprofit sectors. She has participated in research involving children, individuals with low incomes, and other vulnerable populations. Katie holds an M.P.P. from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago with certificates in data analysis in R and health policy. She received her B.A. from Carleton College.
